My Obsessions:FASHIZBLACK

For the last few months I have been looking for inspiration from outside of the states because for some reason the style here is becoming more and more monotonous. It just seems like everyone is trying too hard to be different and fail epically because what they do has been done before. My greatest inspiration lately has been flipping through the archive issues of FASHIZBLACK magazine online.  Although the actual publication is written in french, FASHIZBLACK is moving into a global market by translating its issues and making them digital.  I find this magazine simply amazing for sooooo many reasons...My favorite feature is that they make sure there are both expensive and inexpensive items spotlighted...flipping through a magazine and actually being able to afford some of the things has always excited me.
Check it out here.

Clothes Minded:Motel//Fun and Affordable

I am in love with Motel and their prices.I don't club very much, but I do dress up for just everyday things.If I was a stylist {as I plan to be one day} I would have Motel as one of my go-to companies for any budget.They are affordable and fun.I get tired of seeing the same thing so this is a relief.If put in the right hands their clothing can be turned into anything the heart desires.I have known about Motel for a very long time, but I never looked into their actual site until today.{except once a lllllooooooooonnnngggg time ago.}I was excited to finally be able to post something that I am obsessed with for the girl with a tight budget.I just pulled my favorites, enjoy!
These of course are my favorite.Leopard has been my favorite print since....forever.Anything animal print...without the animal cruelty is my love.I would definitely let these trousers speak for themselves with basics.

This jumpsuit is just fun for me.As with the pants, there is already so much going on that I would just keep it simple.

Ok, so what I want the shorts too.lol I think I am just going to buy them and get it over with.
I just love this dress...{period}
But, I do love this one more...check out the velvet piping.
This dress will be MINE!!!
So will this one.
 Can you believe that none of these items are over $81?Oh, and by the way their sale items are really cool and so are the vintage pieces!

For Feet's Sake:Charlotte Olympia Spring '11

Finding new shoes is a difficult task when you attend a university in Orangeburg,South Carolina,but I do my best. Charlotte Olympia's s/s '11 is girly with a little "va-voom" added.Of course my favorite are the pumps...for the simple fact that they are my go to shoe shape and style.I love creative and funky shoes,but something about a really nice pump does something to me.It can be sooooo versitile.Anywho, here's a few looks for the upcoming season...It may be a while until we put our feet into some sandals, but why not get ready to splurge earlier than later.{i will be posting money saving tips soon.can't be too much of a splurge girl...i'm in college people.}

Obsessions:House of Glam//Crystal

So,I am beyond saying that I am a little skeptical about tv shows based on the fashion "industry" and how it works.Let's face it,they all seem to be the same.But, I have to sadly admit that I probably watch every single one of them.lol When I saw the promos for House of Glam my head started shaking.I was quick to judge it based on the other series Oxygen seem to produce...i.e-The Bad Girls Club.I finally gave in and watched the full episodes online and guess who's hooked?Even though she seems a little cocky my favorite cast member is Crystal.Her portfolio is sick!She has styled basically everybody who's anybody in the world of black celebrities.Jay-Z, Rihanna, The Dream, Mario, and more...It helps a lot that her style is glamorous and she's pretty!To add to my recent love and respect for her she has a tumblr...{i believe everyone should have one by the way...twitter just doesn't do it for me.}It's cool for me to see women of color being highly successful in the field I want to be in.I love it...from June Ambrose to Kristina Gisors, I am obsessed with studying their success.My dream is to eventually have someone studying my achievements and creations for inspiration and guidance.I can taste the success already.

Love,Bri//Broken Camera Syndrome

How can I possibly call myself a blogger and I officially don't have a {working} camera anymore.On a trip to work one day I accidentally put a half closed bottle of water in my bag and guess what got wet?!?!?!I finally re-opened my blog for the millionth time and this time there won't be as many pictures of my personal style until I get a new camera.I do have a few surprises coming though.A photoshoot here and some other ones there that may keep my lovely readers satisfied.Until then, I will be keeping you guys intrigued with photos of my style inspirations and fly fellow bloggers.

I guess while I am here I can include some advice...more for myself than others.These days I am learning that holding on to things and people from your past may not be the greatest thing.You can hope and pray for something or someone to come back...and when your wishes are answered it isn't like it used to be.My lesson right now is either making it work,starting over, or moving on.These things are all easier said than done.Optimism is key and I am going to continue to believe that my life will continue to be great.Heck, I'm living aren't I?
Love,Bri
p.s.-i guess i will include some random webcam shots.lol

Random Findings//Chrisette Michelle and June Ambrose

I search my icons on tumblr everyday to see if they have done or gone anyplace new lately.June Ambrose;one of my fairy style mothers never lets me down.Unfortunately I can not believe that I found this so late...old or new it made me smile through this little lazy slump I have been going through lately.Chrisette Michelle joined June in a cute little "spoof."I want more from this duo.Chrisette inspires me with how humble she is and how she carries herself...as does the lovely June.I am happy to see these beautiful women in a collaboration...and it is so down to earth.You rarely get to see celebrities get down like this.lol I heart them both.

Here are a few of my favorite shots of them both.

Model Model:Anais Mali

As a newer face Anais Mali is making beautiful waves in the fashion industry.Walking for designers like Betsey Johnson, Vivienne Westwood, and Vera Wang along with doing amazing editorials this french girl is well on her way to the top,if not already considered there.I believe that the greatest models are the most diverse ones.Miss. Mali has had the ability to portray every look that has been thrown at her thus far in an amazing way.She is at the top of her game.In an interview for models.com she stated that one of her favorite shows was for Vivienne Westwood when the models' faces were painted white.I like the fact that she isn't afraid to get dirty and gives her all.
Anais was also a spotlight for Vogue Black where she explained her views on diversity in the fashion industry...I loved it when she said "maybe they're scared" in reference to the lack of it.

For Feet's Sake:ASOS wool lace up hiker boot//20% off

Lately I have been on the hunt for quality and fun footwear for a smaller price tag.ASOS has been a go to online shop for me since I found it a while ago.They have one of the largest price ranges I have ever seen.I went on a hunt through their shoes and these hiker boots seem to be my favorite.My favorite feature has to be the wool material.These would pair up seamlessly with the wool short trend going around...but do be skeptical about being too "matchy matchy."Be Creative.
Find these and many more styles at ASOS.
